What It’s all about?
This event aims to bring together the Philippines numerous wake sports enthusiasts, young and old, to create a solid local wakeboard free ride contest scene and determine the best obstacle oriented riders in the country.
The format is very exciting because it is a best trick style format, allowing competitors to go all out without fear of getting penalized for a fall. This will translate into a better event to watch for both the participants and the crowd as everyone will be pushing the limit of their riding. To legitimize a champion for the year, we will be conducting this comp three times over the year, where riders will be accumulating points for their standing in each event. This will allow us to truly have an exciting event that will be followed by the constantly growing wake community as we determine who will ultimately be the best of the best.
July 31, 2010 will be the 1st round, September 4, 2010 will be the 2nd round, and October 2, 2010 will be the final round of the competition. Prizes will be provided for each stop, but the grand prize will only be bestowed to the overall series champion after the three events in each division after accumulating points throughout the year. There will also be prizes to be given for the best crash and best trick after the end of the series, which will be an added incentive for riders to put it all on the line
Competition Mechanics
Judges will choose 2 obstacles (kicker left or right/ a slider) for the competitors to hit and the 3rd obstacle will be a wildcard obstacle determined by a consensus of the judges and competitors involved in a division.
• Each heat/division/4riders will be allocated a 15min to complete his best trick per obstacle.
• Each rider can have as many hits or falls within the allocated time slot.
• No points for incomplete tricks.
• Not a cumulative scoring system (meaning only best trick is scored per obstacle)
• Tricks may be repeated but only the best one is scored/considered
• Scores are rated from 0-10 on each obstacle
• If a rider is able to land a trick, he may opt to hold on for another round for his/her succeeding try.
• Falling and getting up again will not be scored as a completed trick
• If a rider hits an obstacle without a helmet, he will be disqualified from the competition.
• Total added score after three obstacles determines the winner of each event.
• Total added points after three events is declared the champion.
Judging will be based on the following:
Intensity (5 points)
(level of trick, how big, are moves taken to their limit?)
How technical was the trick? How big did the rider go? For sliders: How controlled was the slide? The judges will look for the degree of effort in each maneuver performed.
Execution (5 points)
(level of mastery of tricks performed)
The judge’s look for the level of technical perfection of the maneuvers performed:
Is the trick grabbed? Is the trick landed safely and clean?
And above all does the rider show personal style in the trick performed?
Total score per obstacle will be added up by these two criteria’s (0-10points), and once added together will create a score of (0-30), which will determine the winner in each division.
Riders will be awarded points for how well they place in each event. i.e.
First = 10 points Fifth = 4 points
Second = 8 points Sixth = 3 points
Third = 6 points Seventh = 2 points
Fourth = 5 points Eighth = 1 point
The top cumulative score after the three events will determine the overall champion of the series.

• Only photos taken during the event proper will be allowed for the photo comp.
